Today is a day that I find myself in a negative and foul mood. Usually I can find the silver lining in just about any situation. The more I see what I believe, to be the decay of our freedom and rights as listed by our founders in the Constitution and guaranteed by our creator the more morose I find myself becoming.
Who would have thought that in just a few short years--with a tremendous escalation over the last 5 months, that so many actions by our gluttonous federal government could have seen the light of day, let alone growing and thriving with acclamation by millions.
In the face of a congress that on the one hand sides with this huge unconstitutional power hungry growth, and on the other side a group that for the most part is just as bad, but throws in glib, self protectionist pablum for the masses, and will not do the job that the voters that put them into office demand, one begins to believe that America as it was designed days are numbered; we just don't have a real handle on what that number is.
If a federal government that takes our taxes and uses it to take over banks, investment groups, manufacturing, and now attempting to control health care, while at the same time increasing taxes via stealth programs like cap and trade to control "climate change and global warming" which is based on according to well over 40,000 accredited scientist as false and bad science does not cause a huge revolt by the masses, I don't suppose that 15 czars that answer to no one other than the president and moves to control executive pay won't either.
I know that from time to time many presidents had their "czar" to provide a sounding board for him to bounce ideas of off, but 15 and counting in 5 months that are being given departments staffed on the taxpayer dime is so far away from what this country stands for that I can hardly get my head around it. Maybe as bad as it would be it is time for what Jefferson predicted would happen if minor revolutions every 20 years or so didn't happen and one of the reasons for the 2nd amendment--when government no longer listens to the people and all other measures are of no respite-the people have the right and the obligation to bring that government to an end and return it to its proper role. Granted this is paraphrased but you get the drift.
I hope and pray that while we still can the people in this country rise up, identify representatives that will truly listen and believe in the constitution, conservatism and the judeo christian principles that our country was founded upon and elect them without apology for those beliefs.
Maybe the silver lining in all of this is that God has allowed all of this to occur such that the state of our nation and its direction has finally penetrated our thick skulls to the point that the silent majority will stand up and enforce their will to bring this country back to its founding principles before it is just another "empire" come and gone.
