BREAKING NEWS: Pentagon Burns Soldiers Bibles - Military Chaplains Attacked

Excerpt from redroom.com blog

“A Pentagon spokesman under the Obama Administration has just acknowledged seizing and burning the privately owned Bibles of American soldiers serving in Afghanistan.  The Bibles had been printed in the local Pashto and Dari languages, and sent by private donors last year to American Christian soldiers and chaplains, for distribution to American troops on overseas military bases during optionally-attended Christian worship services. Had the Bibles not been recently seized and destroyed, they could have legally been given as gifts during off-duty time to Afghani citizens who welcome our troops in their homes, as an expression of American gratitude for Afghani hospitality, promoting the democratic ideals of freedom of religion and freedom of the press.”

Used to be when I joined the military that one of the things you got in your first issue included a small bible. I wonder if that practice still happens as our men and women enter military service today.

It is unbelievable to me that our countries leaders are so politically correct and concerned about their politics and future promotions that they are so quick to tear down the very foundation of our country. If America has veered so far from the vision that our founding fathers had when this country was born in the main for religious personal freedoms that it is perfectly acceptable to [in today’s world] burn the bible, rather than potentially hurt someone’s feelings that hold a different religious view or do not believe in God at all—I fear that soon there will no longer be the America that was a shining beacon to the world of personal freedom and freedom from religious persecution.

The idea of burning the bible to me is begging God for judgment. I am not one to go around saying blaspheme but in this instance, government sanctioned bible burning I believe-is an unholy act that should not go without consequence. Our country was founded, like it or not as a Christian nation on Judeo-Christian Principles. The farther from those principles that we travel the faster it seems our country is adopting amoral and depraved activities that do no one good. We are starting to look a lot like the Roman Empire or the Grecians of old. We see where that went. If we don’t learn from examples from the past—as has often been said we are doomed to repeat them.

When are the Good Christian conservative people that most agree are in the majority in this country, going to stand up in righteous anger and say ENOUGH !? No longer are we going to remain silent to those that demand that we allow viewpoints that are completely at odds with our beliefs to be acceptable in the name of getting along.  It is time to take back our country or see it lost as we knew it in our lifetime.

If you will not stand for anything you will fall for everything!

My Stance:

I Believe That Jesus Christ Is The Risen Son Of God And Through Grace I Am Saved.

I Believe That Homosexuality Is An Abomination To The Lord.

I Believe That Prayer And The Pledge Should Be Immediately Reintroduced In Our Schools.

I Do Not Believe That Gay Lesbian Transgender Lifestyles Should Be Taught As A Perfectly Acceptable Alternative Normal Activity To Our Children.

I Believe That Abortion Is Murder When It Is Performed In Anything Other Than An Immediate Life Threatening Condition For The Mother.

I Believe In Capitalism And A Free Market As The Engine To Build And Grow Our Economy.

I Believe In Being A Good Steward Of Our Natural Resources And That We Should Drill Here-Drill Now And End Our Dependence On Foreign Energy Sources That If Withheld Cripple Us. I Also Believe That We Should Develop Alternative Energy Sources For The Long Term Including Every Idea Currently Known Such As: Wind Ocean And Solar As Well As Look For New Solutions Including Geo Thermal And Hydrogen Power.

I Believe In A Small Federal Government That Serves The States Versus States That Serve The Large Federal Government.

I Believe That We Need A New Tax System-Preferably Based On A National Use Tax Or A Flat Tax.

I Believe in A Strict Adherence To The Constitution as Originally Written With Few Exceptions.

I Believe In State And Federal Government That Exists To Serve The People Rather Than The People Serve At The Pleasure Of The Government.

I Believe That Marriage Is Between One Man And One Woman And That To-- In The Spirit Of Political Correctness, Accept “Civil Unions” Or Whatever Other Euphemism Chosen For This Lifestyle Is Just One More Example Of Accepting And Endorsing Wrong Behavior.

I Do Not Believe That Homosexuals Are Inherently Evil, Many Are Good People That Have Chosen For Whatever Reason An Aberrant Lifestyle And Should Be Loved And Left To Their Own Devices Even As One Tries To Bring Them Back To A Normal Lifestyle As They Permit.

I'm Sure I Could Go On But This Is A Good List That Should Provide Those That Are Interested With A Starting Point To Take A Look At What You Stand For.

County demands pastor spend thousands on 'Major Use' permit to host friends

President Obama To The World: “America is no longer a Christian Nation…”

What is going on America? If the headlines above from just the last few weeks doesn’t cause you concern about your freedoms being taken away I don’t know what will. When you add these blatant attacks by the government on our most personal and closely cherished freedoms to the other recent moves towards a fascist government it should let you know that if this continues, the America that we grew up in, and was the greatest testament to the world-- that our way of life was the most open, generous and successful country in the world.

When Government Officials can intrude into the privacy of your home and ask these kind of personal questions:

“Do you have a regular weekly meeting in your home? Do you sing? Do you say 'amen'?" the official reportedly asked. "Do you say, 'Praise the Lord'?"

What is next- do you listen to fox news-do you attend TEA parties-Do you own guns-Do you [you name it]…

The pastor's wife answered yes to the questions above concerning prayer meetings in her home with friends.

“She says she was then told, however, that she must stop holding "religious assemblies" until she and her husband obtain a Major Use Permit from the county, a permit that often involves traffic and environmental studies, compliance with parking and sidewalk regulations and costs that top tens of thousands of dollars.

And if they fail to pay for the MUP, the county official reportedly warned, the couple will be charged escalating fines beginning at $100, then $200, $500, $1000, "and then it will get ugly."

“The First Amendment, in part, reads, 'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,'" Broyles said. "And that's the key part: 'prohibiting the free exercise.' We believe this is a substantial government burden on the free exercise of religion."

I am so tired of the above quote being misrepresented as meaning that the government must not approve of Christianity in any overt way. The original concept and force behind the statement in the first amendment regarding religion was put in place to ensure that the government didn’t set up an official government sanctioned church—like the Church of England—that did not allow Christians with viewpoints different from the official church to function freely. The founders certainly did not expect the results we live with today--where religions other than the Judeo Christian foundation that they used as the starting point for our country would be given the promotion and approbation and many cases superiority over a Judeo-Christian perspective.

Broyles continued, "If one's home is one's castle, certainly you would the think the free exercise of religion, of all places, could occur in the home." I’d agree how about you?
