Obama Pressures Senate On Climate Bill

The anointed one used his weekly radio show to add to the pressure on the Senate to pass the largest tax and free for all intrusion into the American way of life today. Once again he is using his same old argument that if this bill doesn't pass catastrophe will reign.

The sharply debated bill's fate is unclear in the Senate, and Obama used his weekly radio and Internet address to ratchet up pressure on the 100-seat chamber.

"My call to every senator, as well as to every American, is this," he said. "We cannot be afraid of the future. And we must not be prisoners of the past. Don't believe the misinformation out there that suggests there is somehow a contradiction between investing in clean energy and economic growth."

I couldn't agree more. DON'T BELIEVE THE MISINFORMATION being promoted that there is credible science behind this bill. Don't believe the claims that scientists have concluded that climate change and global warming are caused by man, and if not stopped, will be the end of the earth as we know it.

In a 17:1 margin scientists against that conclusion are ignored. The smoke and mirrors being used to promote this bill, which on the one hand says it will decrease "bad stewardship of ecology" by raising costs to such a point that it will necessarily cause a reduction in [green house gasses] being produced by evil corporations; while on the other hand will not cost anybody anything, is so deceitful as to be unimaginable. Check this out in his own words. This video clip give background on the impact to coal producers and tries to make the point that consumers will not have to pay for the increases because the government will send those affected a tax credit or refund. Ask yourself where do taxes come from? They come from you and your neighbors not the Government. The government does not do anything that produces profits and income that can be shared, they take it from us and in the current climate intend to take it from someone that they have decided has too much right now and give it to others they they choose that they feel has too little. How long will that last. If you think about it those that can will go elsewhere. Where do you go for money then a sliding scale down till everyone has a little bit of nothing. Is that the America that you want to live in. Watch Obama in his own word describe his vision of Cap and Tax.

Even to make that statement by itself basically says to the citizens of this country, that the belief held by those in power is: You are so stupid that given two completely contradictory statements you will not understand the lie and will just go along as you always have, when listening to a smooth turn of phrase.

Obama in his left leaning, head tilting, arrogant, pontificating, mind numbing rhetoric, obviously feels the same. Watch and listen to 3 of his speeches and pay attention to the pauses, cadence, and delivery and you will know exactly how the 4th one will sound. As some one once told me, familiarity breeds contempt. With Obama's penchant for jumping at every opportunity to get in front of a camera he has reached the point that like every other thing in life, too much of will give you a stomach ache.  Just look at his declining personal standing in the polls that are heading south to align with low apporval ratings of his policies.

I apologize for the digression but it all ties together. Back to the Waxman Cap and Tax Abortion. This bill has virtually nothing to do with improving the climate in other than a marginal way based on bad science with a false starting point for the argument. It has everything to do with causing intrusion into our lives personally and financially. Remember during Obama's run up to election, he said that his cap and trade bill would necessarily cause the price of electricity to rise tremendously--so much for the bill not costing anything...

If this bill makes it through the senate the consequence will be that everything we need from gas for our cars to go to work to the lightswitch we turn on in the evenings, even to the lightbulbs we can use in our homes, will be dictated by the federal government, with all of the inefficiencies and out of control costs that go along with every bureuracracy.

Even worse, in short order, the best and brightest people as well as companies will move their operations to countries like China and India that produce huge amounts of greenhouse gases and do not and will not subscibe to this lunacy. Even Australia has gutted this climate change nonsence. At a time when our economy is in the toilet, the last thing we need to do is create barriers to business, that will lose jobs, companies and growth.

Call, write, fax and email your senators to vote no on this insanity. Let them know that if they choose to vote yes that you will remember them in the 2010 elections and they will no longer be on your payroll. And yes, for those of you that don't realize it, government employees that are elected to represent you in congress are your employee's. If you had a 35% job approval rating from your employer in the company that you work for right now--how long in today's economy do you think it would be before you were fired. Think about it.

Cap and Tax Rings The Bell For The End Of America As We Knew It

And with the vote passing-[219 to 212] Cap and Tax albeit with a slim margin:  slowly but with gaining momentum, quietly, America fades into history as an idea that almost made it, to join with every other empire that forgot its roots and started down the seductive path to utopia.

Some say that there is still a chance that this abomination will suffer defeat when it hits the Senate; "when pigs fly". More likely, a bastardized and watered down version will make it through- giving something for both parties to stake a claim to that they were triumphant. It makes me sick to watch our nation being dismantled before my very eyes and to see people that were elected to represent the will of the people continue to be snollygothers.

The reality is; this is a bill that in any form, will harm the economy and the pocket of every citizen, promoted on false, or at the least suspect data, will do virtually nothing to change the climate and certainly will seriously damage Americas' capacity to be as productive as she could have been.

Moral Decay Of Politicians And The Ravenous Hunger For Power Of The Government

Moral Decay Of Politicians And The Ravenous Hunger For Power Of The Government

As I start off my Rant today there are 3 areas that I am going to discuss:

  1. fidelity and character of leaders must be rock solid
  2. ravenous hunger for power at all costs by elected politicians must be eliminated
  3. people that have believe in a country guided by the constitution who have been silent and just trying to live their lives and trusting that everything will work out need to become once again awakened to the peril our country is in. Make the politicians who do not fall on the right side of 1 and 2 above have the same fear that was verbalized during WWII that “I fear that we have awakened a sleeping giant to our peril…”

Once again, a conservative that was looked up to as an example of fidelity, character and a true federalist, a protector and champion of the constitution, has shown by his actions, that his integrity is of no value and his character sucks.

It may well be, for those that say: look at Governor Sanfords’ record, that he in fact made some valiant and bold moves that seemed to indicate he is a man of principle, good character and high integrity.

To some extent this may even be true, however when a man, especially someone in a leadership position cannot, for whatever reason, be true to his commitments of fidelity to his spouse, someone that supposedly he loves above all others, how then, can one believe that in matters affecting people he doesn’t know, that like his marriage, he will—when the test comes, act in his own selfish interests and hope not to get called on it.

If his attraction was so great for his illicit amour, he should have done the honorable thing, what a man of integrity and character would do, and divorced his wife, although painful in the short term would have been something that more than likely, could have been weathered and even used for gain.

Instead at the worst possible time, with some of the most important, country altering bills up for the possibility of being rammed down the peoples throats, when every shred of conservative momentum that could be mustered is needed, we now have a distraction, caused by our own, that will be used to provide cover for those that have agenda’s to pass legislation that will grow the federal governments power and put even more pressure on an economy that is in shreds as it is. What were you thinking.?!

Today we have an executive branch led by someone that seems to have an agenda of remaking America into a country 180 degree’s from what our founders envisioned, backed by a congress that will promote that agenda without even reading the bills that are created as long as it adds to and keeps them in a job. Federal government takeover of banking, manufacturing, environment and health care have already in some cases been achieved; with others on the table.

AIG, Merrill Lynch, GM, Chrysler, Climate Change Cap and trade czar for this czar for that with departments staffed on taxpayer dollars totally outside the controls put in place by the constitution. When will this unfettered madness end.

With the prospects of derailing them dim: It can only end when the masses of people that are actually in the majority rise up and say enough.

  • Conservatives that make up the majority in this country need to become a participant versus an observer.
  •  They need to actually read the constitution and understand what it says and what it means.
  • They need to realize how unique and valuable it is and that freedom really isn’t free. That from the beginning; there have been those that have given the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that generations following them, would have the rights and freedoms espoused in that document that no other country in the world has ever had.
  • That today, we have over time, stayed safely in the bleachers and like the frog and the pot story we are slowly but surely getting cooked in the squat.
  • That if we want to keep the freedoms that generations past enjoyed, like them we need to jump out of the pot and yes, maybe even into the fire to save the freedoms of yesteryear even at the expense of our comfortable lives for the sake of those to come.

Tomorrow a bill coming up for vote in the house commonly referred to as cap and trade will most likely pass. It can be defeated but only if enough people call their congressman and let him know in no uncertain terms that if he votes yes on this bill-effectively doubling the cost of almost every thing you need to survive-that you will remember him in 2010 and he will no longer be employed on your dime.

Don’t stop there, next week health care which will result in a single payer system that will destroy with all its shortfalls the very best health care system in the world. Call fax and email your representatives to let them know that you do not want to be forced into another government program bound to fail.

Suggest that if they really want to improve health care and drive down the costs to work on legislation that will drive insane costs associated with malpractice insurance down by creating tort reform that will make it no longer a profitable niche for greedy attorneys to call home. If you need an example just look to another great example of a politician John Edwards who made millions off of suits like these that when all was said and done provide a miniscule amount of money for the plaintiffs but millions for him and his firm.
